Yet, On He Came

The road was steep

Jagged rocks tore at His feet

Battering the soles of His sandals

Yet on He came

Divine appointments had

To be kept

He knew His destiny had called

From the eternal beginnings of time

An old wooden cross was

Waiting in the darkness

Yet on He came

Thousands of people had to be fed

They had gathered for days

Seeking the One who would heal

Diseases, infirmities, blind eyes,

Leprosy and tormented spirits

Many would be ungrateful

And cry crucify!

Yet on He came

He knew what lay ahead

Within the Father’s will

Betrayal and denial

By those He loved

Beating and abandonment

Three rusty nails

To pierce His hands and feet

Forsaken by the Father

A grave with a door of stone

Yet on He came

He knew He would be

Three days in the pits of hell

To bring back the keys of Heaven

To give them a choice

That had gone on before

He would defeat the enemy

Of mortal souls

But, rejection would be their choice

Yet on He came

He knew that in the future

I would need a Savior

To save me from the wrath of God

To wash me of my sins

And redeem my soul from

The eternal darkness of hell

I didn’t deserve His grace and mercy

Yet on He came.

Thank You Jesus for saving me

I am so grateful you came!

Peace and Sweet Harmony

There is a power

That no one can see

A glorious power

For all eternity

He lifts me and keeps me

Joyfully free

Forever in peace and sweet harmony!

He is the Holy Spirit

Who lives inside of me

A powerful Spirit

That I cannot see

He loves me

And heals me all internally

Forever in peace and sweet harmony!

I Hear the Angels

I hear the angels

Calling out His Name

I hear the angels

His love they proclaim

I hear the angels

Singing up on high

Singing of His love

In Heaven’s great sky

I hear the angels

Singing in my spirit

I hear the angels

Oh! How I feel it!

I hear the angels

Calling me to see

Calling, Yes calling my Master to me!

I will Sing My Song

I will sing my song for Jesus

Because to Him my soul belongs

I will sing of His dieing to save me

I will sing of His glory devine

I will sing my song for Jesus

Praying that others will sing along

I will sing praises to His Name in Glory

I will sing of the great eternal story

I will sing my song for Jesus

Because to Him my soul belongs.

His Love’s Embrace

I saw the Son of Man

Walking down a dusty road

Carrying on His shoulders

Such a heavy load

I whispered in awe

That sweet holy Name

The One, the angels

All proclaimed

Then with a nail-scared hand

Of love

He beckoned me to come

I felt the warmth

Of His embrace

As I met the Son of God

Face to face.

Light From Above

The peace of God

Came as Light from above

Hurrying on

Angels wings of love

The glory of God

Came inside my soul

Carrying away

All fears and woe

As my praises went up

Into the heavenly skies

He dried the tears

Of this grateful child.

A Faraway Land

I dream of a faraway beautiful land

A place that is majestic and grand

With gates of pearls and jasper stone

I dream of a mansion that is all my own

With airy rooms so light and free

Surrounded by a brillant crystal sea

I dream of my Savior’s beautiful face

Who will come and take me to this holy place

For He has promised and will keep His Word

I dream of His white horse and flaming sword

The angels singing harmony across the skies

As He removes the evil with its tormented cries

I dream of going to my eternal place in glory

For I believed the Bible’s old, old story

Now I dream that all will heed the warning

And get right with God before the morning

He will split the Eastern sky with lightning bright

It will not be a dream visiting you in the night

I invite you to go with me to that beautiful faraway land.

A Legacy of God

A Savior came from on high

To save their souls and to testify

He was their eternal Legacy sent by God

Who was to be honored and glorified

“We’ll preach the Word from coast to coast!”

The people they all cried.

Then put Him on cruel Calvary

When for His kingdom they were tried.

They feared Him. They knew not why.

So they watched as He went to die.

They watched as He was crucufied!

“Forgive them!” They heard Him cry.

Then for their sins He had to die!

OH, GLORY BE TO GOD! HE DIED FOR ME!

So I will be Your testimony!

I will live my life as You will see

To the very best of my ability!

And with the help of Your Spirit true

I will honor this Legacy sent from You!

Love Tried

Jumbled words

Fell from my mouth

As I made my excuses

Why I didn’t have to listen

To their voices of concern

For my eternal soul.

“It wasn’t my fault!”

“Everyone is doing it!”

“It’s my life and I’ll do what I want!”

“You can’t tell me what to do!”

“I’m grown now!”

“You are not my boss!”

Oh! How I wish I could

Take them all back

For love had tried to teach me

To warn me what lay ahead

When I walked in the ways of sin.

Flames of fire now

Lick at my soul

I knew everything in my arrogance

Thought I was something

On my own and told my parents so

With the cruelest of attitudes

Oh! How I wish I could

Take them all back

For love had tried to teach me

To warn me of what lay ahead

When I walked in the ways of sin.

“Daddy, I am so sorry!”

“Mama, can I wipe your tears away?”

“I want to feel your cool hands of love

Upon my brow again!”

“It is so hot here!”

“Darkness!”

“Oh, God forgive me!”

Cool hands caress my face

I open my eyes

Daddy’s prayer so full of love

Wakes me from my horrible dream.

I am awake now but eternally changed

For with love all is not lost!

I have listened and finally heard

Their voices of sweet, saving love.

Mine to Claim

Blessed Creator of Heaven and Earth

Glorious Redeemer by Thy Son’s holy birth

Holy Father, Giver of all

Blessed Savior of those that do call.

Ready and willing to enter your hearts

Love and forgiveness to you He imparts

Day after day, forever the same

All you do is call on His Name.

Love and contentment are mine to claim

My peaceful existence is always the same

Never more fearful with my Lord I am brave

Because I gave to Him my sin-filled heart to save.

My Lord carried my cross up Calvary’s hill

Bore on His back the stripes that would heal

Forgave me my sins, made me white as snow

So with out-stretched arms up to Heaven I go.
