We Had Hope

Walking this Earth in all of it’s beauty

Seeing the miracles unfold everyday makes me grateful

The mama doe and her fawn with Daddy close by

Lionesses protecting her cubs from all enemies

Eagles in flight as they soar to great heights

Waterfalls and forest glens peacefully adding their voices

Daffodils, dandelions, and tulips heralding spring to feed the bees

Robins and doves gathering grass and twigs for their nest

Baby birds eventually flying free to repeat the cycle

Roses on fences display their magnificent beauty and scents

Oh! How wonderful it all is!

To be alive, to be loved, to be a Mom

To awesome kids and Grand-babies

To know the peace of a loving and merciful, Holy Father

To be able to enjoy the bounty He has bestowed on all of us

Yet the ugliest thing arises each day and that is hate

It takes all the joy away and puts contention at the forefront

I want to live in my world of blessings without harsh word and vulgarity

The way it used to be when we were young and innocent

I know not all was peaches and cream but we had hope

Time seems to be eroding everything away

The beauty of the morning is disappearing into the darkness of night

Only we can change it but first we must want too

Therein is the vast crevice of disconnected souls

Who chose to harden their hearts with unyielding thoughts

The light of wisdom and grace can dispel this

If kindness walks our path with us

Oh to see the beauty of peace in the world gone crazy

Turned upside down with hell winning in the polls of people’s

Disrespect for life and liberty

The pursuing of personal gain overshadowing the needs of others

What a world to pas down to our young ones

God help us to see it’s beauty and to respect it’s being

The Earth will be grateful and we can stop to smell the roses again.

I Can’t Say

My paths have not always been true

I have slipped and slid my way through

But I stand here and say not in disgrace

That I will keep on and finish my race

I may not have traveled as best I should

Sometimes I didn’t even try to be good

Life has played many tricks on me

But I have always manages to walk free

Clouds of storms and winds of change

Buffeted me in this vast open range

Hurricanes of hurt put me to shame

But it was only me to blame

I have given up so much to be here today

But I’m not lost I’ve found another way

I can’t say I will ever get it right

But I won’t go away without a fight

I’ll hang onto the hopes of tomorrow

Not give in to regret or tears of sorrow

I have a new promise that’s now in place

Under the shield of God’s eternal grace.

Veil of the Unknown

Shadows of light dance

Just out of view

Straining to see the future

But hindered by the past

What do I expect to see

Beyond this veil of the unknown?

Will I see loss with it’s devastating cries?

Maybe joy at finding love

That was lost long ago

Reaching out into this fog

Memories searching, seeking

But to no avail

Invisible thoughts can’t be held tight

Like a ribbon on a pretty package

The unknown contents beckon

Beyond this veil of time

Maybe it’s better not to know

For only God has the plan

His mysteries are for Him

To unfold, to show, and to give

The light of eternity calls the soul

To come, to explore, to ride

The waves of forever

To not be afraid of grace

As softness caresses the air

Sweet surrender is calling

Just beyond this veil of the unknown.

My Garden of Promise

I found God’s note for me today

Tender words written on pages of white

Promises of renewal and hope

Springing forth as the evening dew

Sweet aromas of love yielding to the heart

Sending into the day

Life giving songs of blessings to come

Surprises like seeds planted in fertile soil

Grow beyond today

Creating the harvest of bounty

We will call our new life.

We are the Seed

We are the seed that decides the harvest around us. St. Basil said, “A good deed is never lost; He who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.”Galatians 6: 7, 9 says…..For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. and let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (KJV). My prayer for today is that I sow peace to reap contentment, mercy to reap forgiveness, courage to reap honor, and patience with love to reap eternity in Heaven. Amen

Quiet Thoughts

In the darkness of our minds

We search and seek to find

Old memories of much happier times

Like yellow song birds and wind-blown chimes

Quiet thoughts ease my mind-please do

With pretty flowers and morning dew

Crystal raindrops and sunset hues

Quiet thoughts, Dear God, of You.

How Many Times?

How many times have we

Passed this way

And not seen the light of day?

How many times have we

Stopped to say

“Oh, How are you today?”

How many times have we

Given our smiles away?

How Many times have we

Planned to help someone along the way?

How many times have we

Hoped to say

“I’ve made a new friend today!”

How many times have we

Knelt to pray

“Please God, Make me a better person today?”

Hope Abound

Words of love are spoken

When acts of love do meet

Hearts are fulfilled-not broken

When words and acts do meet

Cheerful cries float on the air

Made by children dark and fair

Hope abound and tarry there

Keep them from all worldly care

Time does have a plan for everything

All laid out very carefully

But alas not a soul can see

What the results are meant to be

So, hope abound and tarry here

Make us part of the plan

To take us up to that holy sphere

Where God will walk with His created man.

I Think I Might Know

I think I might know

But probably not with

This flawed and fleshly mind

Just a little bit

How my Father must truly feel

When He gives His heart

To His lost and broken children

Yet, they ignore His tender call

I have cried out to my children

And the ones that I love

To please get right with God

Don’t make the same awful mistakes

That I have made in my life

Going down plenty of sin-filled roads

Trails of disobedience covering me

With the dust of my own shame

Some they know about and some they don’t

None of which I am the least bit proud

So point your fingers at me if you must

And declare to the world my sins

Call me a hypocrite or a holier-than-thou

I really do not care what you think

Even though you remember my wrongs

My Father has forgiven every one of them

I have been covered by the precious blood

That flowed from redemption’s cleansing cross

You will not make me ashamed or afraid to say

That Jesus Christ is my Lord, my Savior, and my King

So I think I might know

In this imperfect mama’s heart

Just a little bit

Of how my Father must truly feel

For the hurt in my heart is caused today

By the family that I love so very much

Yet the ones who ignore me the most!

That is why Jesus would say so long ago

“Father forgive them; for they know not what they do!”

Arise Dear Child

Sunlight sparkles on morning dew

Robins sing sweet chords so true

Gentle breezes seem to say

Arise, Dear Child, it’s your wedding day.

Clouds are whispering-dancing free

This wonderous day is just for thee

Old hurts are gone, all is new

So, Arise Dear Child, this song’s for you.

Roses and orchids, their sweet smell send

Lilacs waving like a welcomed friend

Joined this day by a golden braid

Arise, Dear Child, be not afraid.

Glory sings in angelic praise

Your hearts as one to the Father you’ll raise

With holy hands from Heaven above

He will bless this union with eternal love.

So, Arise, Dear Child, take your place

With love and mercy, goodness and grace

Side by side you will step before His throne

Never again to walk alone.
