Walk With Me

Walk with me

Beyond our tomorrows

To a land of eternal dreams

Look at the stars, the moon,

And God’s own heaven

See the glory spread

Across the midnight sky

Walk with me through

Clouds of rain

And dewdrop shimmers

Cascading waterfalls

And moon lit seas

Walk with me

Beyond the crimson sun

Past quaking aspen

Ready for new snow

Scan the mountains

Reaching out imaginary arms

To embrace the coming day

Walk with me my love

All these wonders we can see

Arm and arm beyond our tomorrows

That still are yet to be.

Tall Oaks

Gazing through windows

Closed to the world

There are open spaces

Surrounding the tall oaks

Squirrels running across their bough

Dodging the neighbor’s dogs

When land meets their feet

They are safe again

Leaves falling from winter’s first blast

Chasing away the summer fun

Firewood stacked up real high

Promised warmth inviting us in

Tall oaks look on

As the last leaf falls

Smoke drifts across

Blocking the view

Burning leaves give up their ghost

Stillness is the final show

All is quite as life carries on

Gazing out through the window

Lost in my world of the tall oaks.

Rainbows and Orchids

Clear across the ocean’s sky

Is a land I’ve never seen

Where rainbows and orchids

Over mountain tops do lean

Where waterfalls with wooded lanes

Dance on air so clean

Where precious gems and sapphire jewels

Sit in the sun to gleam

Where shady nooks with snow white sands

Whisper lovingly to the wind

Where mountain trails and valley grass

Surround a sky blue stream

Where friends and loved ones, gone on before

Listen sweetly as angels sing

Where mighty chorus bands

Salute the glorious King

Where everyone, God and man

Are always as they seem

Clear across the ocean’s sky

Is a land that waits for me

Where rainbows and orchids

Forever fill my dreams.

Look For the Cross

Each day is a struggle just to survive

In a world gone mad with sin

But we have a Savior, a shelter to hide

And the Holy ghost abiding within.

This power of our Savior, our precious King

Will protect us from the storms outside

His holy voice, the Spirit will ring

Across this sin-filled countryside.

Dear Jesus, my Lord, why can’t they see?

What they are looking for is easy to find

Just look for the cross on bended knee

There You will be so loving and kind.

You can’t be found in a bottle of wine

Or on an old barroom floor

Only by looking up can they see

This Savior that offers them more.

But they’ll search the valleys and the mountains high

Looking for that elusive peace of mind

Why can’t they see You drawing nigh?

Reaching out to all mankind.

Yes, reaching out to all mankind

Unseen Hands

Invisible love of unseen hands

Unfold the blankets of the heart

Layers of doubt-wrinkles of shame

Imbedded woes of long ago

Trapped images of fleeting wrongs

Gathered like straw within the mind

Forbidding the joy to be free

One by one the faults are driven

Far from the shattered spirits

To a place of wholeness, within

Realms of hope with blessed peace

Where unseen hands caress

With tender touches of grace

Knitting forgiveness of self

To the hurts of others

Going beyond what needs to be

To belong once again

Where the beautiful memories

Of only the good doth dwell.

Mountain Morn

Daybreak dances over grand majestic views

Morning’s sunrise gleams with autumn’s hues

Golden eagles soar above the sunlit ridge

A valley stream caresses the old canyon bridge

Quaking aspens are dressed in glittering gold

As flashes of sunlight become more bold

Big horn sheep scale the craggy heights again

While silver foxes scurry into their forest den

Lovelorn elk bugle out a lonesome call

Beneath rugged pines standing straight and tall

Giant waterfalls cascade among tiny rainbows

As reflecting pools fill with melting snows

Butterflies flitting from flower to flower

Sweetened by a soft moonlight shower

Wispy clouds stream over the brave summit’s face

Disappearing miraculously without a trace

Chattering squirrels gather fallen conifer cones

Tiny chipmunks scamper over moss-covered stones

Mama doe watching over her newborn fawn

Miracles unfolding within this sun-drenched dawn

Life’s amazing wonders are on this stillness borne

Flying on the wings of every mountain morn.

Sweet Whispers

The sweet whispers of God

Swirl through out my soul

Hushing the tormenting voices

That would try to bring me low

His still small voice that rides on the wind

Surrounds my heart

Gives me peace within

Oh! What marvelous miracles

Are continually brought to me

On the sweet whispers of God

For all of my life and into eternity.

By Heaven’s Light

Shadowed lights and echoes heard

Whispers softened not by words

Lingering awareness of freedom won

Snatched from the grasp of death’s on son.

There comes a time in every life

When we all must take a stand and fight

To keep our souls from satan’s strife

To stay alive by heaven’s Light.

So we take our stand against the one

Known only as  the devil’s son

No fiercer battle can be fought

But with it our freedom’s bought.

I’ve whipped the shadows in my mind

Left the echoes far behind

With lingering awareness of freedom won

Saved by grace by God’s Own Son.
