We Can Believe

We went for a short ride today

With the windows slightly down

Saw a pretty little girl at play

When we stopped to eat in town

She was a tiny little sprite

So full of life and such fun

She was using chalk to write

Upon the sidewalk in the sun

Her Mama and Daddy sat quite near

And watched her like a hawk

They loved her so much, their little dear

And listened sweetly to her talk

Suddenly she ran with her eyes opened wide

Straight into her Daddy’s waiting arms

When from a scary ole truck she tried to hide

As Daddy smiled at her little girl charms

I watched them embrace and quietly mused

How wonderful it is that we can do this too

Running to our Father God, never to be refused

The joy of knowing that he will do whatever

It takes to keep us safe and secure

Just like the Daddy’s love for his sweet little girl

We can believe our Father’s love is absolutely sure.

God’s Golden Angel

She has touched my life with

God’s tender loving grace

Helped me through the pain that

Sometimes I can’t face

She has shown me the silent courage that

It always seems to take

To be a better person each morning

When I wake

She has been my beacon shining with

God’s great, loving Light

Giving me the strength to win

Each battle that I fight

With age-worn hands she has brushed

Away the tears

Circled me with loving arms

To chase away the fears

She has put me in her pocket

To keep me safe and sound

I only hope I’ll walk beside her

When she reaches, God’s holy ground.
