We are the Seed

We are the seed that decides the harvest around us. St. Basil said, “A good deed is never lost; He who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.”Galatians 6: 7, 9 says…..For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. and let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (KJV). My prayer for today is that I sow peace to reap contentment, mercy to reap forgiveness, courage to reap honor, and patience with love to reap eternity in Heaven. Amen

How Many Times?

How many times have we

Passed this way

And not seen the light of day?

How many times have we

Stopped to say

“Oh, How are you today?”

How many times have we

Given our smiles away?

How Many times have we

Planned to help someone along the way?

How many times have we

Hoped to say

“I’ve made a new friend today!”

How many times have we

Knelt to pray

“Please God, Make me a better person today?”

Life is a Leveler

This poem came out of a time when my life had been put on hold to help others and harsh words had hurt me deep within my spirit but Jesus had my back and helped me through this trying time.

Life is a leveler

And seeks it’s own

Then wants more

Emptying my soul of joy

When the stress gets to bad

I stumble in the darkness

Tripping over my own thoughts

What else do I have-

That is worth the fight?

Do I hang on to this?

Or let go of that?

Will it matter in the end?

What will I do-

When I finally break?

Will anyone care?

And put me together again?

Words maybe if soft and sweet

Could be just the thing

That is needed to fix my heart

Love seems to be the thin veil

Used to cover up the cause

I evidently did or said

Something that was wrong

When everything is finally done

And all the lights go out

Will joy come back out of the dark

And caress me in the night?

Proverb for Today

PROVERBS : 17:8- A GIFT IS AS A PRECIOUS STONE IN THE EYES OF HIM THAT HATH IT: WHITHERSOEVER IT TURNETH, IT PROSPERETH. (KING JAMES VERSION)

The translation of ‘a precious stone’ is ‘a stone of grace’-

I love the way God writes! The Giver of the gifts we have ,such as grace and mercy, is the Greatest writer of all!-especially since He wrote the Book! Hope and pray everyone has a great day! Enjoy the gifts He has bestowed upon us today and smile but don’t forget to say Thank You!

Bible Study I

I first started a Bible study group because the preacher who had been coming to the senior citizen housing decided there was not enough participation from the tenants to keep coming. Now I have a real problem with this because what if that last Gentile soul lived there and would possibly have gotten saved which would have ushered in the coming back of Jesus?  Just my opinion! I moved into the senior housing after my husband of 34 years had went on to glory.  There were so many nice people who lived there but now they didn’t have anyone to teach the Bible studies. My dear friend and angel which God had sent into my life after I had lived there about six months thought it would be a great idea if I taught the Bible study. I had taught God’s Word before and throughly loved the thought of doing this again. Since I lived in the building, I was always on sight so to speak. I was so excited to be teaching again because I love the Word of God and teaching what revelation I gleaned by the Holy Spirit from the Word  so others could understand and love Him too.

I began the Bible Study with prayer and praise music. We then read Psalm 119:1-8, 1. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. 2. Blessed are they who keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. 3. They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways. 4. Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently. 5. O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes! 6. Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments. 7. I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgements. 8. I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly. (King James Version). God’s Word is the very life of God because it proceeds from His very Heart. This is so vital for people to understand.  When God speaks something it will happen! It has happened! It will continue to happen! His Word is living truth, alive with promise and is still creating what He has spoken. How amazing is this revelation! Yet, we in our tiny finite minds limit Him with our thinking and lack of faith in His Word. Jesus Christ is His Spoken Word. God speaks only the truth and we can stand on that firm foundation as told to us in the Scriptires. We can believe His Word totally! This Truth is verified in John 1: 1-5, 14, 1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2. The same was in the beginning with God. 3. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. 4. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 14. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (KJV). Jesus was and is and will always be the Spoken Word of God filled with the heart, soul, mind, and Spirit of the Living God.

In the beginning as God was saying, “Let there be light! His precious Word (His Son, the Light) was birthed, being issued out by the eternal voice of His Father into the darkness of this world and dispelling it to the outer reaches of the universe. Genesis 1: 1-5; 1.In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.(KJV) Today the scientific greats have discovered ‘darkness’ in the universe that they can’t explain. It is I believe this darkness that had to back away and make room for the Light of Day! Just like the darkness of the earth had to recede when the created light came so does the darkness in our souls when the revelation of the Light of Jesus (The Word), along with the moving of the Holy Spirit upon the spoken Word of God, comes into our minds to reside in our hearts..  Romans 12:12 says, And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and perfect will of God. (KJV))Our minds must be renewed from the old ways of thinking (in some if not most cases, todays ways of thinking) that were created in our thought processes over the course of our lives. I believe it is called, ‘set in our ways’. The Father wants us to open up our hearts and minds to receive His Son by understanding His Word and accepting Him as Lord and Savior of our lives. II Timothy 2:7- Consider what I say, and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.(KJV) He wants us to have the very best He has for us yet we shun the leading of the Holt Spirit Who would lead us into the knowledge of The Word. Why? I don’t know! But I want too. So we will travel down this road together if you want to stick around. What started out as a small Bible study will continue on in some variations as we glean insights from God’s Word and guidance from the Holy Spirit.

Ruts in the Snow

Looking through the frosty glass of the diner’s window

She sees the soft fire-lit candles all aglow

Blowing snow lands atop her tiny uncovered head

The cold wraps around her caring not if she is fed

She cannot go in for shelter, or so she would think

Maybe someone will offer her a warm cinnamon drink

Ignored by most though some take a peak

Wondering who is this frail little child so weak

Life’s roads have been hard, like frozen ruts in the snow

Yet on she has walked alone with nowhere to go

“May I come in?” Her heart does hopefully have her ask

“Yes” they say, “But first you must do this task!”

“Make ready the tables for the honored guests.”

“Put out the dishes, the bread, and the rest.”

“You now must prepare the special meal.”

“It does not matter how hungry you feel!”

The food is now on the table and ready to eat

It is only then she asks if she can take her seat

“No, not yet, you must get us all of our needs!”

When she makes a mistake for forgiveness she pleads

Now the meal has ended and all the people are gone

No one has offered help to get the work done

She has to pay for the privilege, dish by dish

It is the only way she could possibly get her wish

To maybe be wanted and loved, or just to belong

And sometimes to feel as if she is part of life’s song

This frail little child just wants someone to care

But not one person did a little bit share

They did not give her love, nor compassion did they show

Their hearts were so hard, like frozen ruts in the snow.

The Lazy Snow

A lazy day of drifting snow

Curled up within my mind

Each thought, each memory

As different as the flakes themselves

Where was I when I first knew,

What snow could do for the mind?

Was it when I was a child of long ago?

Did I make snow angels?

I don’t remember any more

Were snowball fights a part of my youth?

I remember I had to work

Water needed to be carried

Animals had to be fed

Snow covered hay for the cattle

New hay had to be strewn

I remember cold hands without gloves

Did I play between chores?

I built the morning fire in the old wood stove

Carried in more wood and kindling

Making the coffee for the grown-ups

Was a must do for me

Nine children were cared for

I was one of six that went to school

Two and a baby stayed home

Did they play in the snow?

I don’t remember seeing snow angels

When I got home-took care of them

Had more chores to do-cooking ,cleaning

Dishes to do-then homework

Seems like something always had to be done

I remember looking out of the window

After I had gone to bed

Snow was falling-had it erased the day?

I don’t know was I old before my time?

Where was I when the effect of it’s softness

Made its way into my soul, my thoughts?

I remember being tired, but happy and content

Was I comforted like now by it’s beauty

I don’t remember-but it doesn’t matter

I have this beautiful day of lazy snow

As I curl up within my mind

Can’t stay long though-still have chores to do.

Freely Given

Walk through this thing called life

Encounter the happiness

The expectant hope

Fly with the joy of the flower

After refreshing rains

This gift of the day

Freely given

Open it! and live beyond yourself

Into the needs of others

That only love can meet

Thank You, Father!

He Gave His All

No wonder the Father will be angry

When His earthly children fail to see

The miracle of what He had done

When He sent His only begotten Son

This special gift from heaven above

Arrived with all power, authority, and love

Redemtion came as a babe that day

To be the Truth, the Life, and the Way

Bound by the promise to give His all

He willingly answered the Father’s call

His Mama wept her tears of grateful joy

As she held her precious little Boy

Knowing as they were streaming down her face

She had been touched by wondrous grace

Now every mother’s child can chose to be

Redeemed and miraculously set free

“Choose ye this day” is still the call

To serve the One who gave His all.

You, and You, and Me

what kind of world can it be

when wars abound for all to see?

what kind of life can be had

when petty people act so bad?

what can the children do for play

when the world has turned to ashen gray?

what can make all hearts light again

when all there is —is tears of pain?

what kind of world can it be

for you, and you, and me?

when no one takes the time to see

what hate can do to you, and you, and me!
