Just to Let You Know

There isn’t anything don’t you see

That will not be overheard

So I put my heart out there

For all to see

Just to let you know and

Tell you this from me

I will love you for all eternity

And if by the grace of God

We are ever allowed to be

I will wait faithfully but alas

Not patiently for you to see

That I’m right here waiting

Where I said I’d be

And if by God’s Divine decree

We will never get to be

I will always be grateful

That for just a little while

You belonged to me.

Thoughts of Wonder

Ever wonder why the birds sing at first light

Or why the elephant always remembers where it was born

And goes back to die

How the raptors know where their territory is

On the electric poles

How fish always know when to spawn and where

Why the bee gathers pollen to make the honey

As it pollinates the flowers

How the tree knows what year it is

As they start a new ring

Why babies instinctively know how to nurse

Whether it be bottle or breast

Or how to take that first breath of oxygen

That had already been provided

Where the darkness went when God created His Light

Plus the sun, and moon, and stars in our vast Universe

Why none of what I have mentioned

Was due to anything a human’s creativity

Could accomplish

These are just a few of the trillions upon trillions

Of God’s amazing miracles

That happen every moment of everyday

Yet ‘we’ act like ‘we’ had the plan

We are pompous strutters of ‘self’

Instead of being humble and eternally grateful

For the gifts He has bestowed on us and for us!

Thank You, Father and forgive us, Please.

Perfect Faith

I see others on their walk of faith

Strong and so together

But that’s not me

I’m all over the place

One day I may pray and another

Totally forget

Doubt can be a companion

That rears it’s ugly head

I can help others to understand

A few things of what I know

Then be so mad at myself

For my shaky silliness and weakness

I read books about the great men

And women of God

I marvel at the knowledge to be

Gleaned by the anointed writers of Theology

Yet the one Book I ignore the most

Is the one I need the most

Perfect faith lives within the pages

Of this Book

Written by ‘The Author and Finisher’

Of my faith

The Alpha and Omega. The LORD of all

Yet I stumble on my path to Him

I fall so short and fail so much

I want to please and be a good child

But I get in the way

When I read of the trials and tribulations

Others have gone through

Or listen to them tell of great blessings

And the things they have done

I hang my head in shame

I have no crowns to lay at my Savior’s feet

Only a broken heart beaten up by life

Patched together with tattered threads

Of sin and remorse

Covered by excuses that I know would sink

Into the soggy quicksand of pity and woe

Yet I do truly believe that He loves me beyond measure

He forgives me my failures and laziness

When I repent then ‘He restores my soul

And cleanses me from all unrighteousness’

I don’t and can’t do it myself

My faith is in Him and Him alone

But as long as I live and breathe on this Earth

I will fail in my walk and my faith

But the One who flung the Universe across the Heavens

Still hold me in His arms as I cry my tears

Of regret at failing Him

Like a child I climb upon my Father’s lap

As I weep with a heart of gratitude

He tells me I am His beloved

That I am worthy ‘By the stripes that paid

The price for me’

One day I will leave this sinful world

And enter those Heavenly Gates of purest gold

No longer afraid or ashamed

My Savior will hold out His nail-scared hands

And welcome me into His home

I will be accepted completely and have

Beyond all shadows of doubt: A Perfect Faith!

Thank You, Jesus!

I Can Rest Now

I can rest now

My heart is at ease

I know everything will be okay

The tears fell into the night

Like cascading waterfalls

I tried to push the hurt away

With tender thoughts

And fervent prayers

But nothing helped

Then I heard His still small voice

Whisper to my soul

“Everything will be okay.”

Now I trust God’s eternal plan

For He always does things right

So I hold my heart in my hands

Outstretched to Him

Giving it to Him for His perfect will

I don’t need to worry or fret anymore

For everything will be okay!

Beyond All Yesterdays

When our worlds collided

We took notice

Not with big bangs or hallelujahs

But smiles and simple touches

That meant so much

The Universe kept spinning

As stars lite up the night

We had found each other

Beyond all yesterdays

The future danced before us

In the pale moonlight

Sunshine then warmed our souls

While gentle sea breezes

Caressed the sandy shore

Then it happened! Life!

Different directions and paths to take

Other plans took over way back when

Still the joy of knowing

Beyond all doubt that

Over the years and up to now

We had been touched by God’s amazing grace

He will be the One to complete the dance

How beautiful it will be

If it be His will

To dance again under

His canopy of stars

In the pale moonlight

As the angels sing.

You Need to Know

If you are reading this

You need to know

That Father God loves you so

It does not matter what you have done

Because you see dear child

You are not the only one

We have all sinned and fell short

Each and every day

But, Father God, gives us the time we need

To get right as we kneel and pray

And ask for His sweet mercy and forgiveness

He holds us to His tender heart

Knowing we are all full of human weakness

And to Him always of much worth

We must teach those who don’t know Him

Of the call upon their lives to go forth

The mission field is right next door

Or maybe across the street

It may be in a Veteran’s hospital

Or a nursing home

Where you will find the one you are to meet

Helping them to find hope to carry on

And not to give up the fight

Wherever Father God has called you to go

Just go with His Light

He has already directed your path

And set your purpose to be of much help

Don”t doubt or be afraid of others

Or what they might think

They may be the ones He has sent to save

From His wrath

Time is running out for everyone

So we all must teach and be ready

To share the Gospel to those we must reach

No matter the hardships or the cost

For tomorrow will never come

And yesterday is lost

so only as we all can see will we have today

To show others as Scripture tells

That Jesus is the only way

To Father God’s throne of mercy and grace

So go forth and fulfill your purpose

Someone is waiting to see your smiling face.

Dreams

Dreams are fickle little things to carry around

Yet weigh so much if not achieved

Hopes dwindle and doubts betray

All because they cannot receive joy or keep believing

They second guess everything

Should they do this or maybe even that

Which never gives a true answer

But yet they try to listen

They need fulfillment and no empty spaces to call home

Always wondering and expectantly waiting

Searching for the path that will finally

Bring them home to their destiny

Sweet dreams, happy dreams

Always complete with time

Bringing the heart to the full knowledge

That God has the answers and always always knows the way.

Pebbles of Hope

My grateful heart

Soars among sky high clouds

Flitters above the roses

On the wings of a butterfly

Dewdrops kiss my cheeks

Then water my soul

Joy competes with sunshine

Then wins as springs flow

Over glistening pebbles of hope

Birthed again by prayer

With complete submission to God

For His eternal plan.

I’m Sure

Wondering about some things

Wandering through my mind tonight

Will today be better than tomorrow?

Has my future taken another turn

In unexpected ways?

Unknowns call from the mist

But I won’t answer

Life’s curtain hangs beyond

The door of time

Waiting for me to mess up

And miss my miracles

I’m stronger now and  I pray

For help from above

God answers and let’s me know I’ll be okay

The promise is there for me

To hold in my heart

And not throw it away with doubts

He has an eternal plan and I’m sure

There is one especially for me!

The Course of Time

Over the course of time

Some dreams do come true

Life delivers them like a newborn child

Soft, sweet, full of promise

Sheltered in the heart until birth

Waiting, hoping, learning

While watching for the signs

The pains of new life emerging

Stretching our mortal faith

Belonging, knowing, accepting

Fulfillment of the truth

Strengthened by the knowledge

that each moment, each hour, each day

Will bring forth this amazing promise

Which I will call: Miracle
