Mine to Claim

Blessed Creator of Heaven and Earth

Glorious Redeemer by Thy Son’s holy birth

Holy Father, Giver of all

Blessed Savior of those that do call.

Ready and willing to enter your hearts

Love and forgiveness to you He imparts

Day after day, forever the same

All you do is call on His Name.

Love and contentment are mine to claim

My peaceful existence is always the same

Never more fearful with my Lord I am brave

Because I gave to Him my sin-filled heart to save.

My Lord carried my cross up Calvary’s hill

Bore on His back the stripes that would heal

Forgave me my sins, made me white as snow

So with out-stretched arms up to Heaven I go.

I am the one

I am the one who did not return to say “Thank You.”

I am the one who mocked in my ignorance

I am the one who spit in His face

I am the one who pulled out His beard

I am the one who scourged Him

I am the one who nailed Him to the cross

I am the one who gambled for His robe

I am the one who denied Him

I am the one who betrayed Him

Yet He did not judge but loved.

I am the one who sat at His feet and cried her tears of gratitude

I am the one who pressed through the crowd

I am the one who was to be stoned when caught in my disgrace

I am the one who was a blind beggar but now can see

I am the one at the well who was given ‘Living Water”

I am the one who was dead but now my mama cradles me

I am the one who was a lunatic but am now in my right mind

Because He did not judge but healed.

I am the one who knelt at an old-fashioned altar

And accepted Him as my Savior and Lord

I am the one who daily brings my love and offerings of praise

I am the one who is set free from my past

I am the one who  will not taste  God’s eternal wrath to come

I am the one who is His Bride

I am the one who will ride the ‘white horse’ across the skies of heaven

I am the one He died for on cruel Calvary

I am the one who believed John 3:16-‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’

I am the one who the Great I AM calls His Own

I am the one who is the beloved of the ‘Beloved’

Because He did not judge but saved.

In The Presence

In the presence of my Dear Friend

No sin can stand-all torment ends

Forever grateful to walk this way

His Resurrection power has come to stay

Battles have been fought to set me free

Defeat is no longer a choice for me

Anger and hate have met the mighty Foe

Rejection and self-pity have been told to go

Rage went on down it’s tormenting road

Shame had to release it’s terrible hold

Oh! Wonderful Risen Glorious King!

Let the anthems of Your praises ring!

Beautiful rapture fills my soul

By Your mercy I’ve been made whole!

It is finished! It is done!

In the Presence of the Holy One!

How Long?

How long will you torture yourself  inside

For things that have gone wrong?

How long, from Him, will you try to hide?

Oh, how long will you allow the thought

You’re not worth the try?

How long will your loved ones

Weep their mournful cries?

How long will you walk

The roads of hell this way?

Oh, how long before you

Finally kneel and pray?

How long until you listen to your heart?

How long will it take to ask

For a brand new start?

How Long? Oh! Wandering lost soul!

How long before you return to the fold?

How long will you blame God and others, too?

Oh, how long will you put off

The things you were meant to do?

How long will you stay so wrong, so wild?

Oh, how long before you realize,

To God, you are still His child!

Gracious Words

Gracious words floating on the air

Caress the heart that has grown cold

Spoken with much love and care

Welcoming the young and the old

“Come unto Me and I will give you rest.”

“Mercy and Grace I will bestow.”

“My promises are always for your best.”

“Simply because I love you so.”

Listen dear people across this land

To the truthful Word He speaks

As He extends a nail-scared hand

To every precious soul He seeks.

Did You?

Did you help when someone needed you?

Go that extra mile?

Did you do what you should do

To turn their tears into smiles?

Did you lighten someone’s heavy load?

Chase their blues away?

Did you smooth out their bumpy road?

Bring sunshine to their day?

Did you love someone’s hurts away?

Erase their trouubled minds?

Did you heal their broken heart someway?

Or was compassion hard to find?

Did you do what was asked of you?

No matter what the cost?

Did you save a soul from hell today?

Search for the one that was lost?

Did you do what Christ would do?

Into the Light

the paths we take

may not always be right

sometimes they take us

into the dark night

We stumble-we fall

trying to find

our way

back to the light

we search-we seek

for someone to lead

some one to take us

into the light

we tremble-we cry

and don’t know why

life won’t help us

back to the light

we reaped-we sowed

by taking the wrong path

so we humble ourselves

we repent-we get right

for only God knows the way

out of the dark night

He has the eternal sign

that simply says

 “Just follow the Light.”

Bible Study I

I first started a Bible study group because the preacher who had been coming to the senior citizen housing decided there was not enough participation from the tenants to keep coming. Now I have a real problem with this because what if that last Gentile soul lived there and would possibly have gotten saved which would have ushered in the coming back of Jesus?  Just my opinion! I moved into the senior housing after my husband of 34 years had went on to glory.  There were so many nice people who lived there but now they didn’t have anyone to teach the Bible studies. My dear friend and angel which God had sent into my life after I had lived there about six months thought it would be a great idea if I taught the Bible study. I had taught God’s Word before and throughly loved the thought of doing this again. Since I lived in the building, I was always on sight so to speak. I was so excited to be teaching again because I love the Word of God and teaching what revelation I gleaned by the Holy Spirit from the Word  so others could understand and love Him too.

I began the Bible Study with prayer and praise music. We then read Psalm 119:1-8, 1. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. 2. Blessed are they who keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. 3. They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways. 4. Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently. 5. O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes! 6. Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments. 7. I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgements. 8. I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly. (King James Version). God’s Word is the very life of God because it proceeds from His very Heart. This is so vital for people to understand.  When God speaks something it will happen! It has happened! It will continue to happen! His Word is living truth, alive with promise and is still creating what He has spoken. How amazing is this revelation! Yet, we in our tiny finite minds limit Him with our thinking and lack of faith in His Word. Jesus Christ is His Spoken Word. God speaks only the truth and we can stand on that firm foundation as told to us in the Scriptires. We can believe His Word totally! This Truth is verified in John 1: 1-5, 14, 1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2. The same was in the beginning with God. 3. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. 4. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 14. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (KJV). Jesus was and is and will always be the Spoken Word of God filled with the heart, soul, mind, and Spirit of the Living God.

In the beginning as God was saying, “Let there be light! His precious Word (His Son, the Light) was birthed, being issued out by the eternal voice of His Father into the darkness of this world and dispelling it to the outer reaches of the universe. Genesis 1: 1-5; 1.In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.(KJV) Today the scientific greats have discovered ‘darkness’ in the universe that they can’t explain. It is I believe this darkness that had to back away and make room for the Light of Day! Just like the darkness of the earth had to recede when the created light came so does the darkness in our souls when the revelation of the Light of Jesus (The Word), along with the moving of the Holy Spirit upon the spoken Word of God, comes into our minds to reside in our hearts..  Romans 12:12 says, And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and perfect will of God. (KJV))Our minds must be renewed from the old ways of thinking (in some if not most cases, todays ways of thinking) that were created in our thought processes over the course of our lives. I believe it is called, ‘set in our ways’. The Father wants us to open up our hearts and minds to receive His Son by understanding His Word and accepting Him as Lord and Savior of our lives. II Timothy 2:7- Consider what I say, and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.(KJV) He wants us to have the very best He has for us yet we shun the leading of the Holt Spirit Who would lead us into the knowledge of The Word. Why? I don’t know! But I want too. So we will travel down this road together if you want to stick around. What started out as a small Bible study will continue on in some variations as we glean insights from God’s Word and guidance from the Holy Spirit.

Wounded Spirit

Sweet music does not come

From the bruised and hurting soul

Melodies once played within the heart

Are silent like drifted snow

Stilled is the voice that used to sing

In harmonious chords so true

Oh where is the love that did always bring

Hope fresh as the morning’s dew?

Fearful now of the fiery darts

Flung by the uncaring foe

Broken trust hides behind the empty heart

Remembering the peace it once did know

The wounded spirit will sing no songs

Crushed by the weight of sorrows

Does anyone care about the suffered wrongs

Done yesterday, today, and tomorrow?

Yes! His Name is Jesus and He can restore

The heart that is broken He will make whole

And give back the song for evermore.

Morning Song

“Awaken O Day!” to the morning song!”

Words speak your halos around the moon

Eternal stars twinkle beyond the clouds

Chirping birds call through the dewy air

“Awake!” “Awake!” “Sing praises to God!”

Time is new a precious gift

Not to be wasted or ignored

Minutes flying into the past

Streams of glory ride the ocean’s tide

Misty fingers beckon to the silent fog

“Come see!” “Come See!” “Sing praises to God!”

Sleepy-eyed children cuddle on Mama’s lap

Coffee gives off it’s beguiling scent to say

“Awaken O Day!” to the morning song!”

“Sing Praises!” “Sing Praises!”

“Sing Praises to God!”
