Patience and Mercy

Patience and mercy where are you?

I walk as if I have been offended again

I pout as if only I matter

Like a silly child with no thumb

To put into my mouth

Really!!!!

God, this is so me!

You must be tired of me

Always doing this!

No patience! No mercy!

Please forgive me as I need to

Forgive others

Is it as hard for You to forgive me?

To show me patience when I’m childish

To show me Your tender mercies

When I fail

As it is for me to show patience

And mercy towards others?

No, because You forgive and forget!

Your tender mercies are new every morning

Your patience is a never-ending supply

I am so sorry!

Perfect Faith

I see others on their walk of faith

Strong and so together

But that’s not me

I’m all over the place

One day I may pray and another

Totally forget

Doubt can be a companion

That rears it’s ugly head

I can help others to understand

A few things of what I know

Then be so mad at myself

For my shaky silliness and weakness

I read books about the great men

And women of God

I marvel at the knowledge to be

Gleaned by the anointed writers of Theology

Yet the one Book I ignore the most

Is the one I need the most

Perfect faith lives within the pages

Of this Book

Written by ‘The Author and Finisher’

Of my faith

The Alpha and Omega. The LORD of all

Yet I stumble on my path to Him

I fall so short and fail so much

I want to please and be a good child

But I get in the way

When I read of the trials and tribulations

Others have gone through

Or listen to them tell of great blessings

And the things they have done

I hang my head in shame

I have no crowns to lay at my Savior’s feet

Only a broken heart beaten up by life

Patched together with tattered threads

Of sin and remorse

Covered by excuses that I know would sink

Into the soggy quicksand of pity and woe

Yet I do truly believe that He loves me beyond measure

He forgives me my failures and laziness

When I repent then ‘He restores my soul

And cleanses me from all unrighteousness’

I don’t and can’t do it myself

My faith is in Him and Him alone

But as long as I live and breathe on this Earth

I will fail in my walk and my faith

But the One who flung the Universe across the Heavens

Still hold me in His arms as I cry my tears

Of regret at failing Him

Like a child I climb upon my Father’s lap

As I weep with a heart of gratitude

He tells me I am His beloved

That I am worthy ‘By the stripes that paid

The price for me’

One day I will leave this sinful world

And enter those Heavenly Gates of purest gold

No longer afraid or ashamed

My Savior will hold out His nail-scared hands

And welcome me into His home

I will be accepted completely and have

Beyond all shadows of doubt: A Perfect Faith!

Thank You, Jesus!

You Need to Know

If you are reading this

You need to know

That Father God loves you so

It does not matter what you have done

Because you see dear child

You are not the only one

We have all sinned and fell short

Each and every day

But, Father God, gives us the time we need

To get right as we kneel and pray

And ask for His sweet mercy and forgiveness

He holds us to His tender heart

Knowing we are all full of human weakness

And to Him always of much worth

We must teach those who don’t know Him

Of the call upon their lives to go forth

The mission field is right next door

Or maybe across the street

It may be in a Veteran’s hospital

Or a nursing home

Where you will find the one you are to meet

Helping them to find hope to carry on

And not to give up the fight

Wherever Father God has called you to go

Just go with His Light

He has already directed your path

And set your purpose to be of much help

Don”t doubt or be afraid of others

Or what they might think

They may be the ones He has sent to save

From His wrath

Time is running out for everyone

So we all must teach and be ready

To share the Gospel to those we must reach

No matter the hardships or the cost

For tomorrow will never come

And yesterday is lost

so only as we all can see will we have today

To show others as Scripture tells

That Jesus is the only way

To Father God’s throne of mercy and grace

So go forth and fulfill your purpose

Someone is waiting to see your smiling face.

But not Enough

I believe one of the saddest things a heart can hear is “I love you!”

Then it whispers, “But not enough”

How sad God must be when we say, “I love You!” to Him

Does He whisper in that ‘still small voice’

“But not enough”.

I Can’t Say

My paths have not always been true

I have slipped and slid my way through

But I stand here and say not in disgrace

That I will keep on and finish my race

I may not have traveled as best I should

Sometimes I didn’t even try to be good

Life has played many tricks on me

But I have always manages to walk free

Clouds of storms and winds of change

Buffeted me in this vast open range

Hurricanes of hurt put me to shame

But it was only me to blame

I have given up so much to be here today

But I’m not lost I’ve found another way

I can’t say I will ever get it right

But I won’t go away without a fight

I’ll hang onto the hopes of tomorrow

Not give in to regret or tears of sorrow

I have a new promise that’s now in place

Under the shield of God’s eternal grace.

He Chose to Bless

I have not held very much store

In having lots and lots of more

I live my life in ‘make do’ land

And what I have within my hand

I don’t need gold or super wealth

Can’t buy joy, peace, or vibrant health

So living in this pieced together life

Cuts down on useless stress and strife

Sometimes I wonder how I’ll do it though

But then God supplies and let’s me know

He heard my prayers to fill the need

Long before I planted my prayerful seed

I have all I shall ever want for this day

I know I won’t do without in any way

The is no reason to even second guess

I am eternally grateful He chose to bless.

Touched By Love

The heart does not come alive until it is touched by love. It’s only function is as a pump with which to supply the body with what it needs. But when life brings love to fill it and it begins to beat for others, it finds it’s way. It can be hard as nails but when touched by love it softens and becomes complete. It is pliable in the hands of God. It finds it’s true purpose which is to give life to the giver of that love and the receiver of that love. It chooses that person as it’s own. That is love-to be enjoyed and cherished. This is life-to be fulfilled and wondrously give by God. Romans 8:28 says, And this we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.

We are the Seed

We are the seed that decides the harvest around us. St. Basil said, “A good deed is never lost; He who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.”Galatians 6: 7, 9 says…..For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. and let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (KJV). My prayer for today is that I sow peace to reap contentment, mercy to reap forgiveness, courage to reap honor, and patience with love to reap eternity in Heaven. Amen

Will We?

A long time ago on top of a hill

Stood and old cross

Quiet and still

Having done it’s part

In redemption’s story

The Son had returned

To His Father in Glory…..

There will come a time

When we will see our Savior

There will come a time

When He will judge us

True and faithful

Will we be ready when time calls our name?

Will we be ready to see our King?

Time will no longer be our friend

It will judge us of our worth

Will we be counted with the sheep?

Will we be ready as a bride

Adorned for her wedding day?

The Son is coming back for Hos own

God has spoken so we know it’s true

Now it’s just a matter of time.

Sometimes

Sometimes broken in a thousand pieces

Sometimes strong and capable

Sometimes sad and lost

Sometimes happy and grateful

Sometimes defeated in life

Sometimes flying with the eagles

Sometimes impatient and angry

Sometimes quiet and contemt

Sometimes anxious and afraid

Sometimes heroic and brave

Sometimes confused and doubtful

Sometimes trusting and obediant

Sometimes running and hiding

Sometimes braving the storm alone

Sometimes hateful and unforgiving

Sometimes peaceful and nice

Sometimes I am all of the above

At any given moment in time

Thank God for His grace that covers me

And His mercy that allows me

To be me: not sometimes

But at all times because He loves: ME!
