Every Trail

every trail I have come across

led to every place

I have ever been

whether I took them

or simply passed on by

they knew the way

that led me straight to you

so abide with me

stay close to me

lead as you always do

so that every place

I will ever go

is still the trail

I walk with you.

Behold the Face

I want to wash all cares away

With living waters so supreme

Sing the glorious’Amazing Grace’

See the smiles of my Savior King.

I want to wear a crown of gold

With jewels so sparkling bright

Live in a mansion like I’ve been told

Bask in the glory of Heaven’ Light.

I want to see my Master’s home

With the angels all around

Smell the fragrance of each room

Listen to each heavenly sound.

I want to be for all eternity

With my Lord and King

Praise Him with heart-felt sincerity

Hear the voices of the angels sing.

I want to walk forever free

With God’s only begotten Son

Talk with Him about all I see

And behold the face of the Holy One.

A Tale That is Told

Psalm 90:9 For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.”

“We spend our days as a tale that is told.”

From our infancy until we are considered old

So what will our life’s tale have to say,

About our walk into this God-given day?

Were we good children when put to the test?

Was patience a nearly impossible quest?

Would we bring honor to our God and King?

If our life was to be our only offering?

Our days are flying by at eternal speed

As God is still meeting our earthly need

So will this be the testimony of our broken soul?

The tale that Christ Jesus has made us whole?

OH! We must tell the tales that need to be told!

The ones about Heaven and the streets of gold

Show the children the paths to be trod

How to be saved by the truths of God

We need to speak about the love that flowed so free

From Calvary’s timbered bloody tree

OH! Sinner listen and don’t walk hell’s path

The Word tells us of the Father’s eternal wrath

The Truth has been told for God cannot lie

There are two places to go when we die

We will be responsible for what we behold

For God has written down the tale our life told.

Enduring Grace

Day comes before the night

Night before the day

Each has it’s turn to dance

Before they go away

Darkness reaps as in a trance

Before succumbing to the light

Dawn exposes the wrongs

That Jesus would make right

Daily heeding the coming day

The blackness recedes

And backs away

Time must fulfill its alloted needs

As it searches on and on

Reaping the whirlwind

Then is gone

Shadows linger upon the mortal’s face

Coldness holds on to the heart

In it’s unholy embrace

Darkness again makes a call

From it’s lonely, hopeless place

Must not listen or we will fall

Oh do not heed this bequiling voice

Make the Light of God your chosen way

Repentance should be the only choice

For therein lives the hope of day

Within all the human race

Yes the Light has birthed and Spirit borne

The Father’s enduring grace.

He Gave His All

No wonder the Father will be angry

When His earthly children fail to see

The miracle of what He had done

When He sent His only begotten Son

This special gift from heaven above

Arrived with all power, authority, and love

Redemtion came as a babe that day

To be the Truth, the Life, and the Way

Bound by the promise to give His all

He willingly answered the Father’s call

His Mama wept her tears of grateful joy

As she held her precious little Boy

Knowing as they were streaming down her face

She had been touched by wondrous grace

Now every mother’s child can chose to be

Redeemed and miraculously set free

“Choose ye this day” is still the call

To serve the One who gave His all.

Daylight and Darkness

Daylight and darkness through my window streams

Waking me when the night shadows lift

Then at evening’s tide lulling me into my dreams

Each new day bringing to me it’s glorius gift.

Will I open this bounty of goodness and grace?

Or fretfully peek into tomorrow’s box of woe?

Unopened gifts that my memories cannot embrace

Only gather dust their contents to never show.

The Father sends His gifts wrapped in the quiet morn

Floating on the fragrace of the dawn’s fragile rose

Mercy and forgiveness share joys that are freely borne

To my hurting heart, the reason only He knows.

It is up to me now to carry to the end of my day

These precious gifts of love that He does bestow

And with His Light to show me the way

I will open the gift of eternity’s rainbow.

‘You’ Say

‘You’ say, “I thought ‘you’ were a Christian?!

When a flaw in me ‘you’ see

‘You’ were in the wrong!

So, why are ‘you’ yelling at me?

I didn’t talk behind ‘your’ back

With cruel barbs like ‘thee’

Oh, Yes, I heard what ‘you’ said

And I tried to let it be

But ‘someone’ kept it going

So why are ‘you’ yelling at me?

I didn’t give ‘you’ what ‘you’ wanted

Evidently that’s the key

I am not a perfect person

And have never claimed to be

I make plenty of my own mistakes

So, why are ‘you’ yelling at me?

‘You’ could hardly wait to point them out

Dear soul this ought not to be

If I was ‘you’ and I’m glad I am not

I’d take this time to repent on bended knee

And shut my mouth before the coming end

Instead of always yelling at me!

For someday soon we will all stand together

Inside of forever’s vast eternity

We’ll be called before the only Judge of this universe

The Books will be opened for each to see

Then with the truth of our lives being revealed

Which one will be in the wrong? ‘you’ or me?

Rainbows and Orchids

Clear across the ocean’s sky

Is a land I’ve never seen

Where rainbows and orchids

Over mountain tops do lean

Where waterfalls with wooded lanes

Dance on air so clean

Where precious gems and sapphire jewels

Sit in the sun to gleam

Where shady nooks with snow white sands

Whisper lovingly to the wind

Where mountain trails and valley grass

Surround a sky blue stream

Where friends and loved ones, gone on before

Listen sweetly as angels sing

Where mighty chorus bands

Salute the glorious King

Where everyone, God and man

Are always as they seem

Clear across the ocean’s sky

Is a land that waits for me

Where rainbows and orchids

Forever fill my dreams.

Journey’s End

Today is the unseen image of yesterday’s child

Birthed by moments which come without end

Chains of seconds merge to make the new

As fading golden rays of the sun descend.

Steps upon steps follow within the given pace

Leading to the path that will constantly send

Mortals over the rocky trails of deepest need

To the calm smooth roads that should have been.

“Where will this day take us?” life does ask

As darkness dances upon the swirling wind

The minutes and hours question troubled thoughts

Quiet musings wander across the mind dear friend.

How will todays choices affect our eternal date?

With all the unknown just around the bend

Have we made the best use of our alloted time?

For the coming tomorrow may just be our journey’s end.

In All Thy Ways

Proverbs 3:5,6 (5) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (6) In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (KJV)

Acknowledge the LORD in all thy ways

And He will direct your paths

Washing clean your sin-stained past

With the shed blood of Calvary

Mighty angels He could have called

Turned away not cared at all

But the glory before Him was all He could see

So He went to the cross for a sinner like me.

The Great I AM had called Him home

The sins of this world for us atoned

Now we’ll give Him all honor and praise

Acknowledging the LORD in all of our ways

And whatever we do, we’ll know it’s true

God’s grace is sufficient for me and you

He will carry our burdens all for free

He has paid the price on an old wooden tree.
