I Can’t Say

My paths have not always been true

I have slipped and slid my way through

But I stand here and say not in disgrace

That I will keep on and finish my race

I may not have traveled as best I should

Sometimes I didn’t even try to be good

Life has played many tricks on me

But I have always manages to walk free

Clouds of storms and winds of change

Buffeted me in this vast open range

Hurricanes of hurt put me to shame

But it was only me to blame

I have given up so much to be here today

But I’m not lost I’ve found another way

I can’t say I will ever get it right

But I won’t go away without a fight

I’ll hang onto the hopes of tomorrow

Not give in to regret or tears of sorrow

I have a new promise that’s now in place

Under the shield of God’s eternal grace.

Veil of the Unknown

Shadows of light dance

Just out of view

Straining to see the future

But hindered by the past

What do I expect to see

Beyond this veil of the unknown?

Will I see loss with it’s devastating cries?

Maybe joy at finding love

That was lost long ago

Reaching out into this fog

Memories searching, seeking

But to no avail

Invisible thoughts can’t be held tight

Like a ribbon on a pretty package

The unknown contents beckon

Beyond this veil of time

Maybe it’s better not to know

For only God has the plan

His mysteries are for Him

To unfold, to show, and to give

The light of eternity calls the soul

To come, to explore, to ride

The waves of forever

To not be afraid of grace

As softness caresses the air

Sweet surrender is calling

Just beyond this veil of the unknown.

We are the Seed

We are the seed that decides the harvest around us. St. Basil said, “A good deed is never lost; He who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.”Galatians 6: 7, 9 says…..For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. and let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (KJV). My prayer for today is that I sow peace to reap contentment, mercy to reap forgiveness, courage to reap honor, and patience with love to reap eternity in Heaven. Amen

So Dance

FBO 10/12/2019

When the time comes for me to go home

I won’t be here but you won’t be alone

I will walk with you in your forever dreams

I know you will miss me and be lonely it seems

Go on with your life and enjoy it

Don’t drag yourself down with sad regret

I was happy, and loved, and enjoyed life

I was mama, sister, daughter, aunt, friend, and wife

I filled my days here on this wonderful earth

With all my loved ones and friends of great worth

I never got to all the exciting things I wanted too

But in the end I did as much as I could possibly do

I kissed the face of each dear child of mime

Hugged grand-babies much of the time

The great grand-babies then came along

Of course none could do anything wrong

So dance today for you may never know

When it’s last dance and your time to go

Hang on to the cool memories

And smile, laugh, talk, and eat

As you remember me. I love you.

Will We?

A long time ago on top of a hill

Stood and old cross

Quiet and still

Having done it’s part

In redemption’s story

The Son had returned

To His Father in Glory…..

There will come a time

When we will see our Savior

There will come a time

When He will judge us

True and faithful

Will we be ready when time calls our name?

Will we be ready to see our King?

Time will no longer be our friend

It will judge us of our worth

Will we be counted with the sheep?

Will we be ready as a bride

Adorned for her wedding day?

The Son is coming back for Hos own

God has spoken so we know it’s true

Now it’s just a matter of time.

Yet, On He Came

The road was steep

Jagged rocks tore at His feet

Battering the soles of His sandals

Yet on He came

Divine appointments had

To be kept

He knew His destiny had called

From the eternal beginnings of time

An old wooden cross was

Waiting in the darkness

Yet on He came

Thousands of people had to be fed

They had gathered for days

Seeking the One who would heal

Diseases, infirmities, blind eyes,

Leprosy and tormented spirits

Many would be ungrateful

And cry crucify!

Yet on He came

He knew what lay ahead

Within the Father’s will

Betrayal and denial

By those He loved

Beating and abandonment

Three rusty nails

To pierce His hands and feet

Forsaken by the Father

A grave with a door of stone

Yet on He came

He knew He would be

Three days in the pits of hell

To bring back the keys of Heaven

To give them a choice

That had gone on before

He would defeat the enemy

Of mortal souls

But, rejection would be their choice

Yet on He came

He knew that in the future

I would need a Savior

To save me from the wrath of God

To wash me of my sins

And redeem my soul from

The eternal darkness of hell

I didn’t deserve His grace and mercy

Yet on He came.

Thank You Jesus for saving me

I am so grateful you came!

A Faraway Land

I dream of a faraway beautiful land

A place that is majestic and grand

With gates of pearls and jasper stone

I dream of a mansion that is all my own

With airy rooms so light and free

Surrounded by a brillant crystal sea

I dream of my Savior’s beautiful face

Who will come and take me to this holy place

For He has promised and will keep His Word

I dream of His white horse and flaming sword

The angels singing harmony across the skies

As He removes the evil with its tormented cries

I dream of going to my eternal place in glory

For I believed the Bible’s old, old story

Now I dream that all will heed the warning

And get right with God before the morning

He will split the Eastern sky with lightning bright

It will not be a dream visiting you in the night

I invite you to go with me to that beautiful faraway land.

Trail of Thorns

When my life took

It’s turn towards the bad

Jagged edges of my soul

Lashed out with all it had

Blaming tongue-regretful sighs

Pointing fingers mirrored

By accusing eyes.

I chose this path

Trodden down so well

Not one person made me go

Seemed easier-this road to hell

With it’s trail of thorns

Wasn’t anyone else’s fault

No one but my own.

Now I just need to repent

Of self-serving arrogance

My pride that should have went

When it first was given the chance

I want to kneel and really pray

For God to show me just how

To be a follower of His Son today

For only in my desperate heart

Can I truly know His peace alone

And reach my final destination

This place I call my heavenly Home!

Mine to Claim

Blessed Creator of Heaven and Earth

Glorious Redeemer by Thy Son’s holy birth

Holy Father, Giver of all

Blessed Savior of those that do call.

Ready and willing to enter your hearts

Love and forgiveness to you He imparts

Day after day, forever the same

All you do is call on His Name.

Love and contentment are mine to claim

My peaceful existence is always the same

Never more fearful with my Lord I am brave

Because I gave to Him my sin-filled heart to save.

My Lord carried my cross up Calvary’s hill

Bore on His back the stripes that would heal

Forgave me my sins, made me white as snow

So with out-stretched arms up to Heaven I go.
