Forever Found-Translation

Bound by eternity

(We have to go-even in death)

Ties ever strong

(Can’t be broken)

Keep pulling forward

(The future)

To farther along

(Can’t stay where we are)

Forever guided by our expansion of more

(Always wanting more-never satisfied)

Needs ever filling

(Trying to appease desires)

Needs never met

(Falling short of the goal)

Comparing the two

(Loosing faith in ourselves and others)

It’s not over yet!

(There is still time)

Taking and giving

(Selfishness and caring)

Replacing the void

(Emptiness of soul)

Time never spent

(Not even trying)

Hurts to avoid

(Fear of rejection)

Eyes toward the future

(Must keep going-don’t look back)

Seeing no end

(Eternity is forever)

Mortals walking

(Humanity as a whole)

Souls to ascend

(We will all stand before God)

Lost in the darkness

(Can’t find the way)

Calls to the light

(We want to see)

Ever trying

(Helping as we can)

Doing what’s right

(Even when we don’t want to)

Heaven eternal

(Final destination)

Granting the dream

(Fulfillment)

Finding the river

(Living Water of Life)

Of mercy’s sweet stream

(Forgiveness)

Cords of compassion

(Unconditonal love)

Eternity bound

(Saved by grace for all time)

Forever forward-Forever found.

Mine to Claim

Blessed Creator of Heaven and Earth

Glorious Redeemer by Thy Son’s holy birth

Holy Father, Giver of all

Blessed Savior of those that do call.

Ready and willing to enter your hearts

Love and forgiveness to you He imparts

Day after day, forever the same

All you do is call on His Name.

Love and contentment are mine to claim

My peaceful existence is always the same

Never more fearful with my Lord I am brave

Because I gave to Him my sin-filled heart to save.

My Lord carried my cross up Calvary’s hill

Bore on His back the stripes that would heal

Forgave me my sins, made me white as snow

So with out-stretched arms up to Heaven I go.

Vast Arrays of Color

Life does present it’s problems but when we get down-pray and write! This poem came out of a time when new love was being smothered by the responsibility of taking care of others and having to be gracious when all you want to do is cry.

Roses creeping along the wall

Seeking a place of their own

Blooming in vast arrays of color

Their beauty tries to console this empty space

That used to be my soul

Why have things gone this way?

I seek a place of my own

A place to rest and bloom

In vast arrays of color

I do not require much in my space

But I cannot acquire anything

That is really mine

Doubt has stolen what I thought was right

Now I am confused and dismayed by life

Time has no scent to perfume my heart

It is stale and seems quite cold

Am I getting to the point that I do not care?

I am afraid-I try not to be

The ground is shaking beneath my feet

I try to stand-to do my best

Can’t seem to get it right anymore

I cannot find my wall where I can bloom

In vast arrays of color.

I Think I Might Know

I think I might know

But probably not with

This flawed and fleshly mind

Just a little bit

How my Father must truly feel

When He gives His heart

To His lost and broken children

Yet, they ignore His tender call

I have cried out to my children

And the ones that I love

To please get right with God

Don’t make the same awful mistakes

That I have made in my life

Going down plenty of sin-filled roads

Trails of disobedience covering me

With the dust of my own shame

Some they know about and some they don’t

None of which I am the least bit proud

So point your fingers at me if you must

And declare to the world my sins

Call me a hypocrite or a holier-than-thou

I really do not care what you think

Even though you remember my wrongs

My Father has forgiven every one of them

I have been covered by the precious blood

That flowed from redemption’s cleansing cross

You will not make me ashamed or afraid to say

That Jesus Christ is my Lord, my Savior, and my King

So I think I might know

In this imperfect mama’s heart

Just a little bit

Of how my Father must truly feel

For the hurt in my heart is caused today

By the family that I love so very much

Yet the ones who ignore me the most!

That is why Jesus would say so long ago

“Father forgive them; for they know not what they do!”

His Light

Cradled by the night

Alone with my thoughts

Yet darkness cannot consume me

The Light holds it at bay

“What Light?” you ask

‘His Light!” I say

Love that comes only from Jesus

Sweeps over me in waves of glory

Compassion abounds to me

His Truth bears the cross of time

Strengthens all who would come

“Follow Me!” says Truth

“I will show you the way

To find this miracle.”

“A new life of eternal hope

Built on the foundation of faith!”

I am surrounded by His unconditional love

And I am at peace. I have His Light

The Light of Jesus Christ!

How Long?

How long will you torture yourself  inside

For things that have gone wrong?

How long, from Him, will you try to hide?

Oh, how long will you allow the thought

You’re not worth the try?

How long will your loved ones

Weep their mournful cries?

How long will you walk

The roads of hell this way?

Oh, how long before you

Finally kneel and pray?

How long until you listen to your heart?

How long will it take to ask

For a brand new start?

How Long? Oh! Wandering lost soul!

How long before you return to the fold?

How long will you blame God and others, too?

Oh, how long will you put off

The things you were meant to do?

How long will you stay so wrong, so wild?

Oh, how long before you realize,

To God, you are still His child!

There is a Way

Proverbs 14:12-15- 12. There is a way which seemth right unto a man, but the end there of are the ways of death. 13. Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness. 14. The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself. 15. The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going. (KJV)

Today after I returned home from a wonderful church service, I went next door to my neighbor’s house to visit while my husband downloaded some pictures from the camera onto the computer.  My neighbor and I were talking about how sweet the Spirit moved this morning and as we were talking I felt the Spirit hugging me which is what I call it when every fiber of my being is alive with witness to something that is being said or done. I mentioned this to her and she told me about a time when she was a little girl that she first experienced Him touching her. Her Daddy was a preacher and preached the ‘fire and brimstone’ messages of the day.  She said she started having a few nightmares then she prayed and they went away. She told me about one she had when she was six years old.  She was in a huge room full of light and on one wall was a small door. She opened the door and went into the next room which was smaller than the first and had an even smaller door. She opened it and passed into the next room which was smaller still and had another small door. The next room was even tinier than the previous one and that door was the smallest of all but she opened it. It scared her so bad because she knew even at that young age that this was hell! Then she woke up. Now this dear lady is 84 years old and the nicest, sweetest person you could ever know who has been through so much in her life but she still walks with God every day. This story so witnessed to me because I understood that this symbolized our walk with God. When we are where we should be there is the Light but as we take that first step away from God our lives get smaller but we chose to open the door for whatever reason or excuse in most cases  Then we are sorrowful and in heaviness’ but we call it ‘depression’.  If we continue to step farther away (backslide) by going through other doors (or our own ways which leads to death) our existence is even more oppressive with life being smaller. Finally we may reach the point of no return and our way that we thought as the right way takes us straight to hell! To come back to the Light would mean having to swallow our pride and repent! I opened a lot of these doors in my walk away from God at certain points in my life but by His wonderful mercy and abiding grace He accepted me back as like the prodigal ‘I came to myself and returned to the Father’s house. ‘The prudent man looketh well to his going’.

Whoever Leads

Beauty for ashes

Brings the promise

Good follows bad

Like flowers on weeds

Lily pond’s rain

And sunshine mornings

Life’s simple needs

Matter to everyone

Love over hate

Joy dried tears

New faces old creeds

With thoughts beyond time

Tomorrow grows up

Taught by whoever leads.

We Will See

Will everything be all right?

Silence cries into the night

Weeping for what used to be

Now no more than a memory

Will everything be all right?

We will see says the night.

Into the Light

the paths we take

may not always be right

sometimes they take us

into the dark night

We stumble-we fall

trying to find

our way

back to the light

we search-we seek

for someone to lead

some one to take us

into the light

we tremble-we cry

and don’t know why

life won’t help us

back to the light

we reaped-we sowed

by taking the wrong path

so we humble ourselves

we repent-we get right

for only God knows the way

out of the dark night

He has the eternal sign

that simply says

 “Just follow the Light.”
