Shadows of Time

Darkness tries to peer beyond the light

To find life’s invisible curtains

Folded into the next quadrant

Within the squares of conceivable time

Never to show itself as we know it

Marching as to a tune in four-seconds

Beating a rhythm not new to us

Calling then answering ‘whosoever will’

No matter the day nor the number

Written on the next accountable page

All shall stand alone before God

His Truth to forever see

Bound by the choices made

Among the eternal shadows of time.

Forever Found

Bound by eternity ties ever strong

Keep pulling forward-to further along

Windows of time, through open doors

Forever guided by our expansion of more.

Needs ever filling, needs never met

Comparing the two, it’s not over yet!

Taking and giving replacing the void

Time never spent, hurts to avoid.

Eyes toward the future seeing no end

Mortals walking, souls to ascend

Lost in the darkness, calls to the light

Ever trying doing what’s right.

Heaven eternal granting the dream

Finding the river of mercy’s sweet stream

Cords of compassion, eternity bound

Forever forward-forever found.

Alongside Jesus

Wandering through the pages of lost time

Across the traces of memories yours and mine

What was I thinking when I did that?

Or, Where was I going as the die was cast?

Grateful hearts then carry us on

Over the ridges of hardened stone

Enduring the valleys to scale mountain heights

Keeping the skies of heaven ever in sight

Climbing always upward with eyes on the goal

His redeeming grace surrounding the soul

Finding at last this safe place to be

Alongside Jesus as He walks with me.

A Friend for Eternal Life

The Guidepost Family Concordance  describes a friend as ‘one highly esteemed’ (pg271). Proverbs 17:17a says: ‘A friend loveth at all times,’ (KJV)and in John 15:13-15 we read where Jesus is telling His Disciples that they are His friends and He theirs. John15: (13)Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (14) Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. (15) Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I haved called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known to you. (KJV).  Here He is telling them they have to lay down their own agendas and obey His commands so they can have the revelation knowledge He recieves from the Father. Oh how sweet to be in such communion with the Son of God and to be considered a ‘Friend for Eternal Life’.

A Friend for Eternal Life

To a dieing world He came

Hung on a cross, bore the shame

Gave us a love that will never die

But, still there’s some who don’t know why.

He comes for the poor, the beaten down

Walks the backstreets of every town

Picks up the fallen, forgives the sin

Touches the hearts of mortal men.

He dries the tears, eases the strife

Becomes a friend for eternal life

Cleanses the harlot, washes the bum

Tells of a brighter life to come.

He loves this people, this sinful earth

So he searches the heart finds the worth

Changes life makes it worth living

Sometimes taking but always giving.

A Friend called Jesus, God’s only Son

Was and is the Savior of everyone

Now you know there isn’t any doubt

He’s the only LORD, the One it’s all about.

By Heaven’s Light

Shadowed lights and echoes heard

Whispers softened not by words

Lingering awareness of freedom won

Snatched from the grasp of death’s on son.

There comes a time in every life

When we all must take a stand and fight

To keep our souls from satan’s strife

To stay alive by heaven’s Light.

So we take our stand against the one

Known only as  the devil’s son

No fiercer battle can be fought

But with it our freedom’s bought.

I’ve whipped the shadows in my mind

Left the echoes far behind

With lingering awareness of freedom won

Saved by grace by God’s Own Son.
