Gazing

GAZING BEYOND THE STARRY SKIES OF INFINITY

CARRIED BY SPACE AND TIME

TO THE UNKNOWN AREAS OF THE MIND

COSMIC MATTER FORMING THE TRIAD OF GOD

SPOKEN INTO THE REALM OF REASONING

PIECES OF BEINGS BELONGING TO NO ONE

COME FROM THE ESSENCE OF LIFE

PARTAKNG AND THRIVING

EVERYWHERE AT ONCE

TO FORM SUCH A THING AS MAN.

Enduring Grace

Day comes before the night

Night before the day

Each has it’s turn to dance

Before they go away

Darkness reaps as in a trance

Before succumbing to the light

Dawn exposes the wrongs

That Jesus would make right

Daily heeding the coming day

The blackness recedes

And backs away

Time must fulfill its alloted needs

As it searches on and on

Reaping the whirlwind

Then is gone

Shadows linger upon the mortal’s face

Coldness holds on to the heart

In it’s unholy embrace

Darkness again makes a call

From it’s lonely, hopeless place

Must not listen or we will fall

Oh do not heed this bequiling voice

Make the Light of God your chosen way

Repentance should be the only choice

For therein lives the hope of day

Within all the human race

Yes the Light has birthed and Spirit borne

The Father’s enduring grace.

In The Depths

In the depths of your eyes

I can see my soul

It is transparent with

Love for you and you for me

Never have I felt such pride

Such emotion stirring in me

Your will and mine in tune completely

Sharing this beautiful love

Our hearts bound by cords of eternity

This is a love that surpasses the known

A love that walks with the angels

On heaven’s holy winds

Carrying us to a place of sweet joy

Just to be together as we truly are

No pretense-just truth

That in itself is our gift from God.

He Gave His All

No wonder the Father will be angry

When His earthly children fail to see

The miracle of what He had done

When He sent His only begotten Son

This special gift from heaven above

Arrived with all power, authority, and love

Redemtion came as a babe that day

To be the Truth, the Life, and the Way

Bound by the promise to give His all

He willingly answered the Father’s call

His Mama wept her tears of grateful joy

As she held her precious little Boy

Knowing as they were streaming down her face

She had been touched by wondrous grace

Now every mother’s child can chose to be

Redeemed and miraculously set free

“Choose ye this day” is still the call

To serve the One who gave His all.

Come Sunday

The future danced

Beyond my thoughts

He had said, “Come Sunday,

We would be together again-

Just hang on to the hope ahead.”

Then it happened!

I said the wrong thing

Stress exploded

Shattering the promise

Rivers of regret flooded my soul

Tears watered my pillow

As I waited-broken and alone

Haunting questions

Would he forgive? Is he okay?

Already hurt by the grief of loss

Making arrangements

Through the cords of pain

Others imposing their will

Taking away his right to be

Wasn’t that what I had done?

So I watched for him

Waiting, listening, not knowing

Praying his words would come true

For he had said, “Come Sunday,

We would be together again.”

Friday brought him close enough

To see him briefly

And to say words shrouded

In the sadness of broken dreams

Then a phone call, a glimmer of hope

And I said, “We didn’t make it to Sunday did we?”

He asked in a voice as broken as mine

“Do you want to make it to Sunday?”

“Oh, Yes!” I cried. “Come see me when you can.”

My heart soared on wings of love

As on Saturday, God showed us forgiving grace

“Come Sunday” and my love was here!”

Daylight and Darkness

Daylight and darkness through my window streams

Waking me when the night shadows lift

Then at evening’s tide lulling me into my dreams

Each new day bringing to me it’s glorius gift.

Will I open this bounty of goodness and grace?

Or fretfully peek into tomorrow’s box of woe?

Unopened gifts that my memories cannot embrace

Only gather dust their contents to never show.

The Father sends His gifts wrapped in the quiet morn

Floating on the fragrace of the dawn’s fragile rose

Mercy and forgiveness share joys that are freely borne

To my hurting heart, the reason only He knows.

It is up to me now to carry to the end of my day

These precious gifts of love that He does bestow

And with His Light to show me the way

I will open the gift of eternity’s rainbow.

And God Said

I had asked God for a miracle today

But the answer had not come

I had cried out in my selfish way

Expecting Him to jump and run

Where is my miracle? I need You so!

I have asked in the Lord’s Name

Dear God, why are You being so slow?

Everything is just the same!

As I was crying out to Him

A little girl called my name

And with a smile as bright as the sun

Through the door she came.

And God said, “There is your miracle today.”

Then my oldest daughter came through that door

Upset with the things of the day

As I smiled at her, this child I adore

She gave me a kiss as she went on her way

And God said, “There is your miracle today.”

My wonderful husband and son

Came through that very same door

Smiling and laughing, having such fun

Making my heart and spirit soar

And God said, “There is your miracle today.”

Dear God I ask forgiveness for my selfish thoughts

And with a humble heart I pray

Never let me forget the grace by which I was bought.

And God Said, “There is your miracle today!”

Walk With Me

Walk with me

Beyond our tomorrows

To a land of eternal dreams

Look at the stars, the moon,

And God’s own heaven

See the glory spread

Across the midnight sky

Walk with me through

Clouds of rain

And dewdrop shimmers

Cascading waterfalls

And moon lit seas

Walk with me

Beyond the crimson sun

Past quaking aspen

Ready for new snow

Scan the mountains

Reaching out imaginary arms

To embrace the coming day

Walk with me my love

All these wonders we can see

Arm and arm beyond our tomorrows

That still are yet to be.

Voices of Yesterday

The voices of our land ride upon the wings of time

Echoing the drum through the whispering pine

Swirling over the grass of the wind-swept plain

To float on the mist of the welcomed rain

Telling of a quiet, gentle place in the days of long ago

The voices going back to where the blue corn grows

Listen closely to the old Grandfather’s tale

Of the elk, the wolf, and the call of the quail

Shades of laughter soon fill the crisp morning air

As Grandmother speaks in a voice so fair

She tells of her grandson and his first wooden bow

How the arrow fell to the ground when he first let it go

His Father will now want everyone to hear

How his brave Indian son brought down his first grizzly bear

Now Mother in her dress of soft, beaded leather

Will speak of the eagle and the power of the feather

She will talk of the fox, the way of the otter

The blanket she made for her new baby daughter

The aunts and the uncles will join in the talk

Remembering the day she began to walk

The voices will want us to know and will say with much pride

How they built their homes using the great buffalo’s hide

They’ll speak about the time of the cold winter’s snow

Recall the warmth of the oak and the embers soft glow

Each voice has a story that needs to be told

Stories that link the young with the old

So listen closely about their ways

For in our own unknown tomorrows

Lives the voice of our yesterdays.

‘You’ Say

‘You’ say, “I thought ‘you’ were a Christian?!

When a flaw in me ‘you’ see

‘You’ were in the wrong!

So, why are ‘you’ yelling at me?

I didn’t talk behind ‘your’ back

With cruel barbs like ‘thee’

Oh, Yes, I heard what ‘you’ said

And I tried to let it be

But ‘someone’ kept it going

So why are ‘you’ yelling at me?

I didn’t give ‘you’ what ‘you’ wanted

Evidently that’s the key

I am not a perfect person

And have never claimed to be

I make plenty of my own mistakes

So, why are ‘you’ yelling at me?

‘You’ could hardly wait to point them out

Dear soul this ought not to be

If I was ‘you’ and I’m glad I am not

I’d take this time to repent on bended knee

And shut my mouth before the coming end

Instead of always yelling at me!

For someday soon we will all stand together

Inside of forever’s vast eternity

We’ll be called before the only Judge of this universe

The Books will be opened for each to see

Then with the truth of our lives being revealed

Which one will be in the wrong? ‘you’ or me?
