(In honor of our service men and women)
Where is he now, Dear Lord?
My soldier child of twenty-one
It’s been weeks without a word
And now this awful war has begun
Last letter I got was full of hope
Said he thought he’d soon be back
Oh! Please Dear Lord. Help me to cope!
I hear his unit is under attack.
My fear is growing stronger deep inside
For my son, my soldier child
But in his job he takes much pride
He’ll do his best in a land run wild
So I’ll lift my prayers to the Lord above
And ask Him please just to keep
Safe in His arms this child I love
Give him this night a peaceful sleep.
